“Just Saying”
by Kenny Fedder
Am I looking for acceptance, for who I am or do?
It’s really kind of scary to fit inside that shoe.
Cause I’m pleasing other people, or pleasing just myself.
Remember Christ our Savior? Don’t put him on a shelf.
I try so hard to fit right in, to please my fellow man.
Then remembering who made me, sometimes I need to stand.
For what is right or should be said, not what they want to hear.
So I’ll let them see just who I am and not hold back in fear.
While looking in a mirror, whom do I really see?
Someone who follows others, or who I want to be?
For Christ is my example, of how to live my life.
And doing what’s expected is never free from strife.
So what I am about to say, I hope you understand.
We’re here to please our Father and not our fellow man.
Remembering how Christ suffered and all He’s done for me,
Helps me use amazing grace, for who I’d like to be.
So I’m “just saying” love yourself, be all that you can be
And when our Savior looks at us, we’re what He wants to see.
