“ A Friendly Place, Amazing Grace “

                                             by Kenny Fedder

We’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, good friends are hard to find.
While tough times make a stronger bond with those whose hearts are kind.
Smiling faces, warm embraces with arms held open wide.
Now there’s a place I want to be with people close beside.
A friendly place where people meet and ask, “How was your day?”
Then wait to hear the answer and what you have to say.
It’s a place where love abounds, a church where we can go
To feel the power of God’s love that says, “I love you so.”
Cause we all need people in our lives to talk and listen to.
Someone willing to take the time, to love and care for you.
With hands that hold you to your word and eyes that help you see
The road that we should travel on, what’s best for you and me.
For we need a firm foundation, while walking in life’s sand.
And when life makes no sense at all, we need a helping hand
To guide our steps from stumbling feet that wander through the day.
Bright eyes that see inside our heart, that’s searching for the way.
Sometimes we need a place to rest, a place where we can go
And feel God’s love around us, like watching flowers grow
In a little, quiet valley where streams of water flow.
A special place that calls your name; God waits for you and so
Lay down here where the green grass grows and rest among the trees
While sunshine sparkles on the leaves and feel the cooling breeze.
This place is called amazing grace, a place that’s free from sin.
You’ll feel a love that holds you close, a calming peace within.
Cause He now lives inside our heart, a place where He will stay
And speak to us with loving words as we bow down to pray.
We have a new found joy to share, for others need to know.
Then use that joy to spread His grace and help His church to grow.
So share that love within your heart, it’ s talking to you now.
Go tell someone your story, for many wonder how
To forget their past and all they’ve done and find amazing grace
Where Christ’s love will surround them, it’s one amazing place.
