{ } HUGS { }
by Kenny Fedder
Ever seen a long lost friend from thirty feet away.
Your arms went open way before you got to them that day.
You smiled, then hugged, said nothing, just glad to see them there.
And probably hung on for minutes, to the friend you hold so dear.
Well hugs are special gifts from God; His spirit lives within.
And we know that He loves us, so that should bring a grin.
Another day you get a call; a friend has passed away.
You’ve known this day was coming, so little you can say.
So you show the love inside you with arms held open wide.
And hug your friends real closely and draw them to your side.
See hugs all start deep in the heart just like God’s love for you.
They bring love’s true emotions from those who love Him too.
Then comes a day you’re all alone, at least it seems that way.
You’re sad and lonely; feeling pain, hold on – you need to say
“Lord, help me feel your love for me, come now and hold me near.
Take away my sadness Lord and take away my fear.
For I know that you’re here with me, come hug me from within.
Help me to feel your presence Lord, come touch my heart again.”
There are others out there hurting and comfort you must share.
No special words to offer just show them that you care.
Cause if you look with open eyes, there someone you will see.
God placed them there in front of you, walk up and plant a seed.
Then share that hug inside you that’s waiting to be freed.
And watch God’s spirit use you, go hug someone in need.
