“I’ll Be Back”

By Kenny Fedder

The linen was neatly folded in the tomb Christ left that day.

Sending a message to the world, He’ll soon be back to stay.

Not crumpled on the barren floor, nor in a corner lay.

Folded where His body was, it left a voice to say.

I’ll be gone a little while and in my place I’ll leave

Someone who’ll guide and comfort you, so celebrate, don’t grieve.

Spread good news to those you meet and teach them of my grace.

So all will know and understand, they’ll one day have a place.

Becoming my sons and daughters, adopted and set free.

From everything they’ve ever done, to all they’re meant to be.

And we cannot foresee the day, when He’ll return to earth.

While generations come and go, with many deaths and births.

Still one day it will come to pass, His promise will be kept.

For death and pain will be no more, our last tear shall be wept

Except the tears that come from joy, with smiles broad and wide.

We’ll know the best is yet to come, with loved ones by our side.

For we’ll see Christ coming through the clouds, our vision will be clear

And everyone alive on earth will know that He is here

To rescue the forgiven and claim them as His own.

Believers gather everywhere, from every land and home.

To worship there before Him, our Savior, Lord and King.

Past saints will rise to join the choir, as all earth loudly rings.

From praises to His Holy name, the redeemed will truly know.

We’ll live with Him forevermore, because He told us so.
