“Who’s Driving?”
by Kenny Fedder

There’s a road built from memories, that live inside our heart
A path that spans through all of time and miles from where we start
This journey we share is special, it’s called the road of life
With bumps and curves along our ride, some bringing pain and strife
We reach to grab the steering wheel, excited about where we’ll go
While paying little attention to the rules we learned and so
One day we remember to buckle up, next day we may forget
Some signs and signals we ignore and then we have regret
So many choices we’ll need to make, searching to find our way
Well, I’ve got a little secret; I’ll share with you today
Leave the driving to someone else; He’s someone you may know
Who only wants the best for you and so He told us so
Daily you’ll make a conscious choice; in which seat will you sit?
Behind the wheel or shotgun, but first you must admit
Driving by your lonesome self, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be
With no one sitting beside you, to keep you company
No friend to steer you through the curves, slow down at come what may
Then bring you past the twists and turns, I’ve one more thing to say!
There’s a bridge someday you’ll need to cross, only He can take you there
It stretches over chasms’ deep, to a place we’ll one day share
Our journey won’t be worry free, but we’ll never be alone
Driving down some dim lit road, into a danger zone.
