Walking

  by Kenny Fedder

I’ve run the race so many days and rarely slowed my pace.

While trying not to go too far, or stand there in one place.

I’ve flown to heights on angels’ wings; the views from there were grand.

Then swam through waves that pushed me back, to where I first began.

And the lessons that life taught me, were more than I could bring

myself alone to comprehend, but learned one precious thing.

If you walk with eyes wide open, if you really look you’ll see

a Savior who is always there, to guide both you and me.

So move on slowly down your path, be still and look around

and listen for the whistling breeze; you’ll hear some joyful sounds.

Then gaze at skies with brilliant stars, their wonders to behold.

Though they’re only just a portion of all that’s been bestowed

This world with awesome wonders is there for us to see,

A glimpse of all the beauty, of now and what will be.

So take this special moment to thank our Lord above

For all the blessings in your life, but mostly for the love

That’s greater far than we could know, or ever understand.

Yet walking helps you see His face, reach out and take His hand.
