“ Planted “
By Kenny Fedder
I see someone in the distance, their head bowed in despair.
And as I watched him closely a darkness fills the air.
Now moving ever closer, saying no words at all.
I see his eyes they’re full of gloom, he stumbles and he falls.
With hands and arms now trembling, his body tired and weak.
Tears are flowing down his face as he begins to speak.
“ It’s like I’m being buried by filth no one can see,
The dirt from all my shameful life is piling over me.
I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole, then I followed it in.
Covered by the mess I’ve made, condemned by all my sin.
I want to know where help comes from, I need a brand new start.
Void from all my dirt inside, deep down within my heart. “
I raise my arms and place my hands upon the broken man.
He’s shaking now uncontrolled, weak unable to stand.
On his knees he asks for mercy, seeking to find God’s grace.
We talk about where I’ve come from, as I look into his face.
And tell him “ you’re not buried as you believe to be.
You’ve really just been planted, becoming a new sown seed.
Seeds all need the SON to grow, roots of love finding their way.
Into the soils of righteousness, today will be the day,
To ask the Lord into your heart and in your heart He’ll stay.
Changing you from the inside out, Christ is the only way.”
He asks about forgiveness, lips trembling while speaks,
Pleading “ Oh Lord please cleanse my heart, grace is what I seek.”
Taking his hand, he rises up, now smiling broad and wide.
He knows God’s spirit lives within and feels the warmth inside.
Because of Christ’s redeeming love we now can live in light.
Death’s dark shadows are no more, for we’ve been given sight.
To see the sun shine brightly, in the absence of the storm.
Planted by the Masters hand, how seeds are being reborn.
