” UNBROKEN “

By Kenny Fedder

I’m standing alone in silence, with darkness all around.

Mid twisted steel and broken glass, tears flowing from the ground.

There is no light above me, I’m chilled by wind and rain.

Small embers glow from helplessness, tall ruins scream from pain.

Smoke’s now burning in my eyes, the smell of death is near.

And now I hear the weeping, there’s sorrow everywhere.

I bend to sift through ashes, to learn if God was here.

Waiting to see if hope will come, while sensing hate and fear.

But, you’re the well I draw from, the spring within my heart.

Your spirit lifts me upwards, while I only know a part.

Of how you give me strength to live, here in this darkest night.

So let your hand of grace now fall and touch me with your light.

For on this rock of Christ I stand and trust in Him each day.

I’m so forever grateful for the fear you took away.

There’s free unbroken spirit that only comes from you.

Cause you’re the light inside me, that’s Holy, Pure and True.

So when your world is broken, look up and see God’s light.

And remember He is always near, to chase away the night.
