” FORGIVEN– FORGOTTEN “
by Kenny Fedder
We say I will remember not, we say I will forget.
Our sins have been forgiven, but there is still regret.
Those memories of things we’ve done, Oh I remember when.
Sleepless nights we suffer, for things that might have been.
We say I remember not, we say I will forget.
We have been forgiven, for what we’ve done and yet.
Our memories still haunt us, they just won’t go away.
The damage that was suffered, may still be seen today.
So we keep ourselves in prison, for things of yesterday.
It’s true we have been pardoned, but in our thoughts they stay.
Christ suffered on the cross for us, how can It really be,
That He would die and take the sins, from ones like you and me?
We should not remember sins, that He has cleansed that day.
He has no memory of them all, for they’ve been washed away.
Into the seas of forgiveness, where memories are no more.
Raging waters of grace that cleanse, flow clean on the sandy shore.
We must only remember Christ and what He’s done for you.
Serving Him and others, is what we need to do.
So I will remember not, I can forget you see.
Cause when I have been forgiven, Forgotten they will be.
