We can see the world is broken and racing towards the dark.

Yet know the dark can’t stop the light, not even a tiny spark.

And we have the Holy Spirit, to light up each new day.

He lives inside our very souls, to help us see our way.

Think about that for a moment … His presence is right here.

Yet mostly we ignore Him or forget He’s even there.

He’s here to give us courage, to speak the truth in love.

Encourage us to stand our ground, yet not to push or shove.

To give us words we need to say, when questions come about.

While spreading comfort, joy and peace, no need to ever shout.

Waiting to help us understand the worth of every soul.

And strengthen us to boldly stand to make the broken whole.

In times of heavy burden, in times of deep despair.

Christ was guided by the Spirit, so His human side could bare.

His feelings of being left alone, His suffering and His pain.

While drops of sweat became like blood, strength He could regain.

That power is living in me, it’s there inside of you.

While striving to do it all alone, seems the human thing to do.

Remember how the early church had grown by leaps and bounds?

Well, the gospel’s still the gospel, same Spirit’s still around.

While quietly inside the pews, we sit with folded hand.

And pray that God will send His power, to change the heart of man.

The Holy Spirit lives in us, His purpose is quite clear.

To teach and guide us through this life, not live our lives in fear.

Boldly we accept His power and stand before Gods throne.

Eager to make a difference, until we’re all called home.

We need to earnestly seek Him, His wisdom, power and might.

In the midst of His Holy presence, draw closer to His light.

May He be our constant filter for our actions, words and deeds.

While showing those who need the truth, by sowing tiny seeds.
