<  Directions  >

                        By Kenny Fedder

When moving towards a certain place, must we turn left or right ?

Depending what’s in front of us, it may be run or fight.

We seek directions on what to do or where we need to go.

Yet, who or where we get them from, really matters, as you know.

Being not sure of our next step, is a scary place to be.

Especially if the direction is a vision we can’t see.

Some have lasting effects on lives, while others we quickly choose.

Directions may be critical, it might be win or lose.

But, if there’s time to think it through, we’ll do it by ourselves,

Put it on the back burner, or put it on some shelf.

The journey may have many curves, so steps turn into miles.

Those minutes all go flying by and memories become our files.

Close friends may help us figure the way, but only if we ask.

And we sure know that everyone’s, not suited for that task.

Having different perspectives help, depending on their past.

Having someone who’s been there, more questions can be asked.

Praying with an open heart and saying what’s on your mind.

The Holy Spirit can guide us, so we may truly find.

A better way to clear the fog, direction for you and me.

Helping us learn the pathway, to where we’re meant to be.

Directions can be verbal or a whisper to our heart.

And the written word has knowledge that needs to be a part.

Of understanding our purpose and facing our future goals.

It’s not about the now my friend, it’s about our heart and soul.
