I awoke today from early light that opened up my eyes.

Then turned to see you lying there asleep and at my side.

And I was not at all surprised to see your loving face.

For you’ve been here for many years; beside me is your place.

I thought of loving memories and miles we have fared.

Of all the dreams that have come true and love that you have shared.

Then I listened to the whisper that was singing in my ear.

So I asked the Lord to bless you and always keep you near,

Your love touches every part of who I am today.

Cause you’re the part within my heart that helps me see my way.
